How can I lock Nokia phone beside a prepaid file?

My 6230i phone is stolen and therefore, I want to lock it so that it will be immediately useless. Is it possible to lock it in prepaid string? I know the serial number of that phone. Hope that somebody can reply concerning this problem!. tnx!

If you are using GSM service like Tmobile or AT&T, etc. Then the one and only thing you can do is hold the wireless company list it on their blacklist.

When family call next to cell probs etc, they always ask for their IMEI or ESN info to update the story, should that one ever come up - there you step!

But realistically if it's a GSM phone they can have it unlocked, and as long as the unsullied person never give the number to the cell carrier (because it really won't affect GSM service if they hold the wrong IMEI on their cell profile.) then they can still use your phone minus any problems.

If its a CDMA or TDMA cell phone ( Verizon, Nextel, Cricket, etc), then people's cell numbers are hooked up to the IMEI directly (No sim cards) so once someone tries to get going that IMEI, they will be DENIED! YEAH!
