does a SIMS chip hold the songs that you buy for your cell phone?

No, they are downloaded to the phone. If you change phones and keep the same SIM you can keep everything except things you downloaded (like ringtones, wallpaper..etc.) But, some cell phone companies will resend that stuff to you if you call and ask them. (t-mobile does)

So since Cingular is now AT&T...?
