What record extension are ring-tones?

i have a verizon wireless Vcast phone. i get a 2GB micro sd card fo it. it has 3 folders. my pix, my tunes & my sounds. the 1st 2 are observable but the my sounds one is confusing me. is that whre you put the ringtones and if so what is the file extension? the manual and CD be no help. because they want you to pay envelope to download them. i believe if i have answers to this put somebody through the mill i can make my own ringtones for free.

Well, at hand are a few file extensions but these don't event because your phone will most likely play Mp3's. This is the wallet extension I use when I make my own ringtones for my phone, and yes it is free. So only find some program that cuts up Mp3 songs so you can turn them into Mp3 ringtones.

Well if its true that your phone can't play Mp3's than there is a complicated solution to this problem, but conceivably doable. I already know that Audacity doesn't allow you to cut up WMA's so this is my alternative: Convert the songs from WMA's into MP3's and then cut them up.

Once you are done making the ringtone, Audacity will agree to you export them as either MP3's, WAV, or ,OGG. The concluding two are common extensions that your phone should know how to play, so toy around with these.

If these two still don't work, next there is still one final alternative, you can convert the song put a bet on into WMA, after its been cut up by Audacity as an MP3.

It would work, but it may require more time than you would approaching and you would need an Audio Converter to switch the files from WMA to MP3 and Vice Versa.
