Cell phone??

i just bought a tracfone and dosnt work within my area but my friends own the same one and it works where on earth mine dosnt how is this possible? the closest tower is about 20 miles. my friends own their Zip code set to the town with the tower and mine is my local closure code. could this be the problem? what do i do?

I'm pretty sure your phone is registered to a different tower, which is farther away from the tower closest to your house. Just because you're registered in your nouns code doesn't mean you'll be registered to the nearest tower to your house. I suggest complaining to your phone company. If you don't own one tough lucky. However loss of service happens to everyone. There isn't much you can do to fix it.
