Is IMing free on the AT&T meet people?

I've been considaring trying to IM on my phone. But, does it add to the internet charge? or is it free? same next to email, what about it? thanks!

IM is logged as paper messaging (sms), so depending on the feature you have for messaging, if you enjoy unlimited then your covered, any thing over the amount of messages you enjoy per month would be 10 cents per message sent and received.
