My friend gave me an unlocked iphone, but I already hold At&t. I want to set it up on itunes but I'm scared that it will procure locked again. Does anyone know if it will or wont because after all I do own At&t.

Answers: using it with iTunes won't snuff the iPhone unless you attempt to update the firmware. In which case, you'll enjoy an iBrick (that's the technical residence for a dead iPhone) or a vanilla iPhone.
