I am interested in the iphone. How is it going to compare next to similar PDA phones?
For example iphone vs. treo. palm.
Answers:
powerfully whereas with the treo and other pda phones u certainly have key that are there and buttons similar to a normal phone. very well ths phone is totally touch screen, it will enjoy a better quality for those who have need of the phone for internet and music , managing things and it also has audiobooks and optical voicemail.. it will a larger selection of features thsn any other pda or smartphone on the flea market today...
There are pros and cons next to both products, but the iPhone is clearly cutting circumference. I have owned a Treo 650 very soon for nearly two years. I also bought a 20 inch iMac G5 two months later. I love both and find them graceful to use. I also use a BlackBerry 8700g that uses EDGE. The BlackBerry is easy to type on and terrifically useful for work and although EDGE is faster than figment of the imagination on my 650, the connection is better on phantasm. I like the Palm OS better than the BlackBerry. It's more multi-use for one thing.
Few associates have have hands on experience next to the keyboard on the iPhone. As beside any data entry method, the more you use it, the easier it get. I got vastly good beside Grafitti, but I don't miss it. The physical keyboard on the Treo and BlackBerry are unforced to thumb type and you can also type using one hand near a finger or thumb. I remains to be seen whether that's possible on the iPhone.
The iPhone have a gorgeous 3.5 inch screen that switches to do over by just rotating it. The user interface on the internet is the most awesome aspect of the iPhone because it uses full html webpages in recent times like a home computer, and beside WiFi it'll be pretty fast. The music player is the best iPod to date. Although 8GB of memory is nought to sneeze at, it lacks a memory card slot so you can add more size like a Treo can. I'm particular any application you could want will be developed for the iPhone because it will be a very popular device. It's also enormously thin. It would be nice if it have a user replaceable battery. Perhaps surrounded by later version. The iPhone will have push email, and ocular voicemail.
Treos are coming down in price. The iPhone is expensive, but smaller number expensive than the no contract price of the 650 when it first came out.
The Treo 755p can be used on the power perception network which is faster than EDGE, but at most minuscule the iPhone has available WiFi.
Since it'll be on AT&T's gridiron, talk and facts plans are likely to be double that of Sprint's pricing.
If the talk/data plans (including access to WiFi) are competitive, there's a adjectives calculator app and time clock app, the data input is unproblematic and fast, then versions allow for the user to replace the battery-operated and a faster network, I'll replace my Treo even lacking the memory card slot.
If the iPhone's keyboard works as virtuous as the Treo's, it will blow out everything else currently out there.
It is not a PDA. It does not have "adjectives edge features" resembling all the brainwashed Mac fanboys claim. Everything it have is already a standard feature, or have already been outdated. Like it have 2G EDGE data. Very slow, and the AT&T 8525 PDA phone have 3G HSDPA data, which is exceedingly fast. It is also much smaller number than the iPhone. Also, the touchscreen keyboard is going to suck. Have you ever typed on a touchscreen grand piano? I have, and I know the iPhone's is big, but so is the one I enjoy tried. And it's not like Apple can magically build it easier to type on, because you will make profoundly of mistakes on it.
Also, the iPhone has no removeable memory. You hold 4 GB or 8 GB permanetly. And that's not just for music, it's for EVERYTHING, including video. It's going to go by outstandingly fast, but on my Samsung i730 PDA phone, it have an SD slot, and in notion I can have unlimited memory by buying tons of cards.
No removable mobile is a pain surrounded by the ***. My i730 came next to 2 batteries, and it's nice to hold a backup battery incase I own to do a lot of stuff online for my career out somewhere and my battery get low.
The iPhone does not support all the Microsoft standards, so if you want to kind a Word document on your iPhone, tough luck.
Steve Jobs says: It's revolutionary! It's a touchscreen video iPod! Well, he's totally lying to you trying to slip away that off as revolutionary. My i730 uses Windows Media player as a "touchscreen video player." I hold Borat on my Windows Mobile PDA phone.
Another problem is no support for any type of business stuff, like Exchange servers (basically, resembling a Microsoft BlackBerry email server) or Outlook syncing. So you can't have your business calendar or corporate email on your "PDA".
In certainty, the only "topical feature" is the Visual Voicemail, which is barely a part.
I don't know why people are thinking this POS iPhone is so great. It's counter-revolutionary to influence the least.
