if I unlock my iPhone, (geohot method) and place a new SIM card within the phone, will I still receive monthly bills? I live in Canada and want to use iPhone next to Rogers, a GSM phone provider. Will I receive a bill every month and from who?

Answers:    In response to Janice and the other user, whose user name I can't translate: It is COMPLETELY LEGAL to unlock your phone. In fact, you're protected by the DMCA if you agree on to unlock your phone. When you pay for something, it's rightfully yours. And if you want to use a different holder on a phone that you purchased (and didn't steal), that's perfectly allowed as well. There is no actual illegal channel to unlock your phone. I can't believe what a ridiculous answer you just give.

Warning: I know the geohot method is great, but be VERY discreet when doing this procedure. Anything slightly going wrong can brick your phone. In other words, it'll stop working correctly, or not work at all. Remember that whenever you hack a freestyle powered device, you have to be completely careful that you won't formulate it short-circuit. Also, if the soldering is too complicated for your taste, look into the up-to-the-minute (and legit) software solution by iPhoneSIMFree.com (they currently sell their unlocking license as wholesale, but you can look up resellers such as iphoneworldwideunlock.com).

Because you're hacking the device, and you place your Roger's SIM card into the phone - you will verbs to be billed by Roger's. You will continue to receive a regular monthly bill from Roger's. No other company will enjoy your name, number, billing address, etc. if you unlock your phone.

Unlocking iphones dishonestly is no difference then stealing candy from the store or robbing a mound. Keep that in mind.
how is modifying your own product banned. Unlocking a phone isnt illegal, it would be if Apple consent to you borrow it, but you giveit back, but save for that its all fitting, its your phone, you paid $600 or w/e for it, so why would it be against the law? you will receive bills from both companies until you cancel your contract and for adjectives of you who say unlocking is unsanctioned you are wrong the courts have fixed if you remain a customer of the wireless company that has the right's to your phone for 90 days it is LEGAL to enjoy it unlocked.
