Why is an "unlocked" Iphone such a big deal ?
I don't fathom out . I heard someone unlocked an Iphone and exchanged it for a strange Nissan 350Z , and also got offered a consulting errand with a mobile phone company .

Unlocking the iphone allowed it to be used on other cell phone service providers except at&t. George hotz, that kid from new jersey be the first one to unlock one, hes a very smart guy he risked space up his iphone and disconnecting and soldering wires.

But now that it's unlocked, it can be used on T-Mobile and foreign carrier. It's not a huge selection, but it's better than man stuck with crappy AT&T.
