i get an iphone and dont know how to work it. i have a cell phone, do i remove the simcard or will i hold a different number on my iphone?

I do believe that the iPhone is only for AT&T and just this minute unlocked for T-Mobile.. with that within mind, those two services are GSM which means, yes you will necessitate a SIM card. If you got an iPhone and already own a sim card then basically pop it in and you should be honest to go. I would look into background plans and what not, if I were you.
