I already have cingular as my delivery service. and i'm confused about the iphone! it's say that u have to obtain a
contract to activate it. but if i already own a contract with cingular can i only just put my cingular sim card on the phone and it will work?

Answers: no it wont work...it will merely work with a certian type i.e. only made for the iPhone so u inevitability to extend ur contractYes you can transfer your sim card into the exotic phone but youre still going to have to earnings the activation fee for cingular to 'recognize' the tentative phone....its really just a opening for them to scam $40 out of you.
no, no other sim cards will work in the iphone.No with the sole purpose the sim card that comes with the iphone will work. You can pop out the sim card located at the top of the phone by insterting the bring to a close of a paperclip into the tiny whol next to the headphone jack. The simply use is using the iphone sim for another phone but it DOES NOT work the other way around.
Also did you enjoy an upgrade on your contract? AT&T only accept new contracts or upgrades to buy the iPhone. but they might donate you some slack since you renewed a month agothe answers above are both correct, but let me explain further. You are upgrading to a different iphone plan, so its a new contract. Second, the sim card for the iphone is internal, you cannot access it. IMO its not worth the hype.
