The Iphone does not have T9 because it have a full keyboard. The touch sensors are fairly good. Also it have spell check so if your word is close it will show you the replacement and you can just hit space and it will replace it.
so if i typed hwllo for example it would replace it next to hello.
It just take a little bit of practice and you can seize really quick at texting. Holding phone contained by both palms and using both thumbs to text is most restructured way to do it on an iPhone.
