If I buy an iphone that is NOT unlocked and get going it at ATT, will I still need to sign a 2yr contract?
I want to buy an Iphone. I already enjoy a contract at ATT/Cingular and don't want to sign a 2yr contract. If I buy an iphone LOCKED to ATT, can I just attach the data plan and start using it? Or will they still formulate me sign up for the 2yr plan?
Answers: Yes you have to go and get a 2 yr agreement if used on the AT&T network. It is member of the AT&T and Apple agreement. you have to adopt the terms when you register through i-tunes. Unless it is unlocked. The trick is that you can buy the phone next to a discount if you get it next to new 2 years plan. If you already get the phone and don't need to buy it and you already hold service with AT&T adjectives you need is to sign up for a background plan. It will be attached to your voice plan and won't have 2 years necessity. I did the same entity with company provided BlackBerry - I lately got notes plan and it worked. I'd suggest you talkto AT&T CSR anyway.
YES you never need a 2 year contract. the single reason ethnic group actually seize them is to get a free phone, or gain a better price on one, just narrate them you have the phone and dont entail a contract. You will hav to unlock it, my friends got an iphone and he did it himself so it cant be too thorny. There will be instructions how to do it somewhere on the web. This mode u can use any sim/contract
If it is locked you can only use it on O2 (for britain)
