Answers:    If you're interested in an iPhone, you could consider looking into getting unlocked models. Unfortunately, they are expensive, but some nation use different methods to get theirs from AT&T for cheap and after looking into how to unlock them. I'm afraid I don't know of any sites offhand that contribute this information, but from what I've seen it's not too knotty.

I don't think this will be a problem considering where on earth you live, but remember that this is a GSM model and that a CDMA provider will do nothing for the phone.

Edit: Sorry, I judge I misread as well. T-Mobile can use the unlocked GSM, although if you do choose them, I should alert you that their data plan may not be as stellar as AT&Ts. This is, at smallest, the case within the U.S.
