Is it sane it buy a unlocked iphone? Is it legal to unlock iphone for personal use.?
I do not want to be tied down near at &t contract, nor want to pay 70 $ a month for 2 years. Thank you...
Answers: I unlocked my own phone. (Hackers hold now put up tutorials, or better nonetheless try iFuntastic) I have thoroughly enjoy it. It is not illegal to own an unlocked phone, the only piece it does is void the warranty.
The just thing you will own trouble with right in a minute though is that if Apple comes out with an update to fix collateral issues or bugs, then you are out of luck, but updating an unlocked phone may turn it into a brick.
I hold had an iPhone since morning one, however, and the hackers out there own been busy at work after every update Apple have thrown at them, so I stay pretty happy.

its not necessarily 'illegal', but it does break your one year warranty, so if your iPhone happen to malfunction for any rationale (besides you breaking it), apple will not even touch it since you unlocked it.
unlocked iphones are always bothersome when a hot firmware comes out because most new updates break your unlocking.
