Whats the purpose of unlocking an IPHONE?
IM a noob at this but what sthe point of unlocking an IPHONE, pros and cons of doing so

Pro: You can figure out exactly how things resembling the touch screen and the applications work and how exactly its connected to the at and t web. Some kid did it and sold it for millions to verizon.
Since its been unlocked there's really no root to unlock it anymore.

Unlocking is not the same as jailbreaking if you expected Jailbreaking. Unlocking your iphone means you can use it near more than just the inspired carrier. Jailbreaking method hacking the iphone so you can catch 3rd party apps and at hand are literally hundreds of them. The cons of jailbreaking your phone is you will void your warranty and if you don't jailbreak it correctly, you could brick(cause it to stop working for good) it. The cons of unlocking your iphone is that it may not function on another web.
