Can I buy an Iphone within US and unlock it to work contained by Norway (with norwegian sim card).?
I want to buy an Iphone and use it it Norway. I know there are many tutorials on how to unlock the phone but what give or take a few for european providers. (in particular Norway) where the phone is not for public sale yet.
Any feedback appreciated.

Sure can. An unlocked apple iphone can use any service provider as long as you enjoy your SIM card.

I worked in AT&T for a year and I know for a reality that the iPhone is locked to the AT&T service. However, there are companies out there (most on the internet) that unlock the iPhone to use next to international SIM cards. Now, I will tell you, that when you unlock the iPhone, your warranty through Apple is void. I hold also heard that unlocked iPhones only tend to stay within working condition for about three months because iTunes automatically updates the software on the iPhone and puts a block on unlocked iPhones because it is technically illegal to unlock them. But if you are inclined to take the chance, I hold seen it successfully done. Hope this helped!

Absolutely! In fact, explicitly a common thing to do given that it is far cheaper to purchase them surrounded by the US for use in other countries. The phone will work well as the SIM determines the framework ... the issue will be if your network /carrier supports the datastreaming and protocols that come with the iPhone ... you can own a great phone that works as a phone but, if your systems cannot support the data requirements, then that aspect is SOL. If it is not on the other hand for sale there, I suggest that they do not enjoy the server farms and infrastructure to yet support the notes side of the iPhone. I could be wrong though ... best to check. The phone, however, will definitely work as a phone!
