Can you lower the amount you repay per month for an Iphone?

I'm getting an Iphone 3G on july 11th
and I found out that the lowest individual plan is $70
and I know you have to pay $30 for the notes plan
but what if you cut the number of night and weekend minutes
would that reduce the price?
or you can't do that?
Answers: no. its $40 for voice and $30 for background period.
the way you can cut it, is not buy the toy and buy a solid phonecan't do that. $70 a month is the cheapest you can get that phone. And that is next to the CHEAPEST text plan Apple iPhone, BB Storm, or LG Dare (or another touch peak better than adjectives of them)?
