Delivery from 02 uk bypassing activation for iPhone 3g?
I live in Dublin but would like to decree from 02 in the uk and have scholarly that you might be able to activate at home. if I bought one for instance at lb99 could I never get going it with 02 and assuming they unlock it get an iPhone 3g for lb99 in need having to pay the monthly charges ?

No, I don't guess this will be possible. When ordering from O2's website you need to supply a UK postcode and address.
As for at home activation, it seem that while you have to activate it in-store when buying from a shop, online customers must be capable of activate it from home. How else would we activate our phones on the 11th?
The mode it normally works is you would buy an iPhone on O2 Tariff from O2.
Now the tariff (monthly subscription) will not kick surrounded by until the phone is registered with Apple through your pc.
So,essentially your phone will be inactive and you will be unable to use it.
However, in attendance is something called jailbreak which is software that goes on to your iPhone and unlocks it and afterwards you are able to use it with ANY simcard afterwards.
This is without being tied down to a contract.
No you can't generate it from home, you will now have to set in motion iPhone 3G in the shop.
Further to the answer posted below you can ONLY buy the iPhone 3G from the shop ONLY - either Carphone Warehouse or the O2 shop. When you buy the phone you will be required to generate the phone THERE AND THEN - you will not be allowed to leave the shop with an unactivated iPhone and it's as simple as that. It's miserable from your point of view living in Ireland, but I'm afraid at hand it is - that is what will be happening beside the iPhone 3G. What happened with the iPhone previously be what happened then - this is what will crop up now.

As far as I am aware you will not be able to buy the iPhone 3G online as you be able to do so previously. While I do know that you can pre-order the phone online, I would still imagine you would never the smaller amount have to collect it from the shop. I'm absolutely sure I've read that you can presently only buy the iPhones from the shop only and population are really up in arms about it. I'm not aware you will still be capable of buy the phones online now either from O2 or the Apple shop anymore, but I could be wrong. [shrugs]
