How in a hurry (or slow) is the browser for the ipod touch compared to the iphone?

i used an iphone, which i think was first social group and it was relatively slow, but i know the 3g iphone is supposed to be like twice as briskly. how does the ipod touch compare. and also is the ipod touch worth buying? i have a 1 or 2 year old ipod that still works, but the battery-operated sucks and there is damage to the peak. i think the gyro thing looks pretty cool and itd be nice to surf the network.

Answers:    The Iphone 3g and the Ipod 2g should have comparable (if not identical) speed. Remember that the Ipod 2g was released AFTER the Iphone implication it's software and hardwear should be up to date.

They both use Safari
It's the same.

All three use the same firmware (with a couple of modifications that own nothing to do with the Safari browser).

The iPod Touch solely uses Wi-Fi.

When the iPhones are on Wi-Fi, the speed is the same.

The key is that any phone can use internet when there's no Wi-Fi around. The shut in is that it's slower because instead of only like three connections on Wi-Fi, the cellular tower have hundreds/thousands of connections (split the internet amongst those compared to just three).

The internet on the iPhones are only slower when you're not on Wi-Fi (in that overnight case, the iPod Touch can't even go on the internet). The 3G iPhone uses 3G internet connection when you're not using Wi-Fi which is comparable to lower close DSL.

The first iPhone used EDGE which is like dial-up.
