How much is the bright iphone 3g going to cost me if i sign up for a at&t contract?
right now i have t-mobile and up until the closing few months i was really happy near them but im most likely switching to at&t and getting the new iphone depending on the cost of the phone, no i hear its only going to cost 199.99 but if thats only if your a current at&t customer resigning your contract or a brand trial customer signing up. i wanna now whats this thing is gonna cost me and what the monthly charges for the iphone are.
You will rate $199 for the 8GB and $299 for the 16GB with a 2 year contract.
If you get a plan beside 450 anytime minutes, M2M and N&W, it is $39.99/mo. You will also pay $30/mo for the iphone data plan, and an more $ for the text plan you choose. You can get 200 messages for $5/mo, 1500 for $15, or unlimited for $20 per month.
So if you catch the unlimited messaging plan, your bill will be 39.99 + 30 + 20 = $89.99 per month before taxes and fees, surcharges etc. Realistically, depending on where you live and your export tax rate, you will be paying between $100 and $120 per month in all.
If you be to go with the $5 record package, you would be at $75/mo before taxes etc, so the lowest that your bill could be is nearly $85 per month.
If you want 900 anytime minutes instead of 450- add $20.00.
Hope this helps
But while I'll be out in that waiting in the wee hours of July 11 (it's my job, after all), the rest of you should ruminate twice before losing sleep on launch day. Here's why.
1. Shortages are unlikely
Remember ultimate year, when we all got contained by line early for the iPhone because we be afraid it would sell out? Well, that didn't quite surface. Yes, individual AT&T stores sold out quickly, but many Apple stores have plenty of iPhones in stock in the days and weeks after the big morning. (Indeed, there weren’t any serious iPhone 1.0 shortages until just not long.) Also, word of hundreds of massive overseas shipments bound for Apple (which began arriving as early as March) lead me to believe that there's a healthy supply of iPhone 3Gs on hand. So if you're worrying more or less a Wii-like shortage of the iPhone 3G, well ... I wouldn't.
2. Chaos on Day One
Unlike last year, customers won't know how to activate their new iPhones over iTunes—instead, clerks will enjoy to activate them in the store, contracts will enjoy to be signed on the spot, and new AT&T subscribers will have to put up with credit checks. It could take a good 10-15 minutes per customer—and that's if things dance smoothly. It'll be a new process for everyone—especially for Apple Store employees, who aren't accustomed to processing cell phone contracts—so I'm anticipating (dreading, actually) a train wreck subsequent Friday. Even if you're dying to lay hands on the iPhone 3G, you might want to wait a week or so until they find the kinks worked out.
3. 32GB iPhone 3G on the horizon
I was readily disappointed when Steve Jobs didn't unveil a 32GB iPhone last month—indeed, all we get were 8GB and 16GB versions, and I'd intuitively like an iPhone that I could cram with as much music and video as I can stand. Here's the item, though—a 32GB iPhone 3G is probably coming within the next six months, if sooner (well, that's my guess). If I wasn't buying the 16GB iPhone 3G for Yahoo! Tech, I'd probably sit tight and wait for the 32GB version to arrive.
4. Best topical iPhone features are coming to the original iPhone
Yes, the iPhone 3G will be getting GPS and, of course, 3G—but for in a minute, you can't download music tracks over AT&T's 3G network or access AT&T's streaming video service. For me, the most exciting thing roughly the new iPhone is the upcoming App Store, which will be stocked with score of 3D games, chat clients, productivity apps, RSS readers, you name it—and the App Store will be available July 11 as a free upgrade to the dated iPhone. That'll keep you busy till the 32GB iPhone comes out.
5. The HTC Touch Diamond
I've seen the adjectives of cell phones, folks, and it's called the HTC Touch Diamond. With its gorgeous VGA screen, handsome touch-screen interface, and compact, light-weight shell, the Diamond is the first phone to make me green-eyed with envy since … powerfully, since the original iPhone. The Diamond is set to arrive in the U.S. surrounded by September, and spy shots of a Sprint-branded Touch Diamond are already circulating on the Web. You might want to give the Diamond a serious look before committing to a modern two-year iPhone contract.
