I am reading up on the different 3G iPhone and it conference nearly the 3G radio. What is that?

Is the 3G radio just the ability to pick up radio stations? One of the articles said that using the 3G radio will cut the freestyle life in partly. I am a skeptic since I tried Nokias music phone which had an fm receiver which sucked ***. How am I supposed to listen to Paul Harvey and return with the "rest of the story" if my phone won't work? Any explanations on the 3G radio will be appreciated.
first of all its not a radio so u wont be able to listn to the radio using it.
the3g radio is the member of the cellphone that lets u make call.
3g is a new format which lets u attain the internet 2times as fast as the first iphone.
Uhm .. well i own a iPhone 3G and their is no radio on it ... sorry but i dont know where on earth you heard that .. but it isnt true. and I am a iPhone freak, so trust me if their was a radio on it .. i would know ... oh dally a minute ! their is radio "applications" but their is no official radio. Their are free radio applications that you can install from the app store that can get live streaming from the trellis .. and i am sure that it eats up the battery .. sorry i forgot almost those pesky apps, so email me if you have questions. What 3G radio is is in actuality just radio-over-broadband. You know how some radio stations sometimes broadcast themselves not only over the air-waves but also on a web-page? This is similar. What have happened is some of the wireless carriers enjoy signed up alongside satellite radio providers, giving their customers access to satellite radio through the cellular provider.

The reason it is called 3G radio a bit than satellite radio is because you are not receiving a signal directly from the satellite. Instead, the signal is sent from the satellite to a central heir (or a couple central receivers). From there, it get broadcast out via the service provider's 3G network to any phone that has requested to hear it.

I enjoy tried it on the EV-Do network of Bell here in Canada, it certainly is not all that bad. The signal stops every once within a blue moon but only very briefly most of the time (though that could in recent times have been because my phone have been dropped an awful lot). But that was also on the ingenious EV-Do network, not on the current EV-Do rev. A (CDMA) network or the HSDPA (GSM) framework. I would believe that the current networks should broadcast at a high enough rate to allow it to work almost seamlessly.

This one eat battery exceptionally quickly because not merely is it sending and receiving a data transmition (which in actual fact consumes as much if not more power than a phone call, surprisingly enough), but it is also blasting out the audio it is acceptance.

Hope that helps some eh :)
