My plan has two iPhones and both share the unlimited relations texting plan for $30/month. The AT&T representative also assured me that any other lines added to the plan would benefit from it as well. If your family plan already has this, later no need to worry about increasing costs from schoolbook messaging.However, if your family plan has no unlimited text kith and kin plan, then unlimited text messages for your phone would cost about $20/month. Also, the unlimited information plan for your iPhone (which is required) costs $30/month. To add a line, it would cost an additional $10/month.In the winding up, your bill will most likely just go up by $50/month (not including tax) since it is assumed that you already hold a line on your family plan. Also, keep within mind that the first month of your data plan will cost more than $30 since it is "pro-rated" or something for reasons I did not quite know. But the month after, the figures should be back to what you expected it to be.You should talk to an AT&T representative in the region of it for more accurate information.EDIT: Sorry, I misread the initial question, I didn't realize you meant monthly cost, not just the increased cost.
