I'm looking to install a topical LCD Glass on my iPhone 3G. What glue or cement do I use to fix and repair it?
I have a cracked screen, and I see the glass on eBay, but where's the best place to buy everything and acquire instructions?

Well dude u need to in fact buy the Iphone glass. The LCD is the display screen that shows the picture.If ur lcd is broken u actually hold to look out for a new iphone.But if u have broken the glass cover u can replace it.U can also move about to the apple store with the screen and just enlighten them to fix it up for . U can buy the screen in ebay.That's ok and smart thing to do.Then in recent times go to apple and say "Hey dude, can u fix this up for me" :P...hope it helps!.cheers!
You are talking about two different things.
There is an LCD peak inside your phone, and then there is a piece of clear acrylic over it to protect it.
If it's just the cover specifically cracked, you might be able to replace it - but if it's the LCD that is dead, afterwards you are almost gauranteed to spend more money replacing it than if you just bought a new phone.

You can buy a do it yourself kit at http://missionrepair.com which includes the correct adhesive and the replacement iPhone Glass and digitizer for around $69.
The repair process is to remove the lcd/digitizer assembly from the phone. Remove the LCD. Pry the broken glass/digitizer assembly off of the plastic LCD Frame. Remove adjectives of the old adhesive. Install the new cement. Install the new Digitizer/Glass assembly. Reassembly the phone.
Here are a few things to watch out for: 1. There is a very fragile rubber stamp around the edge of the frame. Its difficult, without practice, to remove the glass minus damaging that seal. 2. The LCD Screen is very fragile and comfortable to crack when removing it from the frame. Be very careful here. The LCD is expensive. 3. The connector for the ear speaker is fragile and can be confusing to disconnect. If you damage this weakly you will need to replace the logic board which is very expensive.
With this in mind you may want to permit Mission:Repair do the install for you. It will look better and you can be assured nothing else will get damaged surrounded by the process. They do the repair within 24 hours.
