It's 3.0.1, not 3.1. All it does is fixes a SMS security exploit. 3.1 is coming within Sep.
That is the beta version of 3.1. The final text of 3.1will be release sometime next month. Basically it provides iphone users with MMS which was supposed to be released near the 3.0 firmware. There are a few other things included in the 3.1FW, but it's mainly for MMS. Source(s): ME
