How to achieve an iphone 3G ratify a metal detector.?

My school has metal detectors that we go through to kind sure we dont have weapons.They will take your phone when you jump through it.Please help

If you are allowed to have a cell phone, they should be fine with you hand them the phone as you pass through, and them handing it back to you on the other side. If you aren't allowed to hold a cell phone, you should leave it at home.
