Is lock up breaking my iphone a correct view or a unpromising hypothesis?

I have an iphone and for a good amount of time i have be thinking about jail breaking it, but i want to know from people near experience if the benefits are worth the consequences, and also exactly what those consequences would be if i did.
Answers:
Jailbreaking the iphone voids your warranty. If you've had the phone a year, then your warrant is void already. The Jailbreaking process is particularly easy and difficult to mess up. Backup your phone in itunes, then follow the instructions for redsn0w.

If you want to un-Jailbreak, basically restore the backup you made before jailbreaking. So yes, you can take it back to commonplace.
