Iphone 3g cannot restore - error (1030)?
i recently upgraded to 2.1 firmware on my iphone 3g but something went wrong and i contracted to downgrade to 2.0.2. so i installed itunes 7.7.1 and shift restored to 2.0.2. after a while in to the restore i get the (1030) error and itunes claims it cannot restore this phone. the phone is within recovery mode ever since. anyone knows how to fix this?
I would recommend restoring using DFU mode:
* Attach the phone to the notebook
* Turn the phone off
* Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
* Release power but hang on to holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is predictable.
* At no point will the display come on. Now your restore should work.
