Iphone 3g NO contract?

So I hear that the no contract Iphone 3g 8gb and 16gb models are coming out. But I am in a family plan for 9 months immediately. I really want the iphone but I was thinking if I bought the no contract 8gb iphone 3g for like 600 and verbs my number to the iphone and use my parents family minutes and use the txting which i already have and clear 30 dollars for the data plan (im not sure if its gonna be 30 dollars). So lets influence it will come out in a month that means I will be 10 months into my familial plan. So if I bought the iphone for 600 and then payed 30 bucks a month for the data plan it will come out to 420 so that scheme when my plan ends I would of payed only 1020 dollars? Can this happen? or will at&t produce me pay for the voice plan but I wouldnt understand why I would of bought an non contract iphone? Please give a hand me out
