IPhone 3G Prepay/Pay as you Go activation ?

okay well i got an iPhone 3G on prepay from o2 - Ireland and i am purely wondering is the activation (done by myself) easy or is it hard and is within anything i have to do that i might not know about etc. or is here anything i have to change or do differently...
