I want to buy an iphone 3G. So i looked on ebay. Some are called Unlocked Or Locked and i do not know what that means. Can someone please explain to me what that mechanism?

unlocked means that the sim card slot is open and can enjoy a any card put inside of it. locked means that you cannot put your own sim card inside
