ok i really wanna be sur of this my friend is traveling to america and i told her to buy me the iphone 3g and here in the united arab emirates we use etisalat...so im in recent times wondering will it work here? some ppl are telling me it wont work...i cheked the countries united arab emirates is not within the country list...so thats why i wanted it from america so will it work over here..

You must unlocked the iPhone 3G to work with other carrier.
It is not going to work because now AT&T and Apple are activating the phones when you buy them, designation that you have to get a two year contract near AT&T. Later on they are going to be selling the iphone without a contract but it will be more expensive.
