Is buying the iPhone 3g for 600$ worth it?

I want to get a new phone minus restarting a contract so i want to buy the phone out and it will cost about that much. Is it going to be worth that money?

Answers:    First poster has no model what they're talking about. Materials cost around $100. But don't forget the most expensive part of any product: labor. Oh yeah, that's also only if you want a phone that does zilch. Software development is also a large factor (you try programming OS X).

All within all, it costs about $300 respectively iPhone or more.

Anyway, $600 for 8 GB is about the price of the original iPhone on launch light of day.

I think it's worth it, but if the other choice is saving $400, i'd in recent times take the contract.
lol only you can be the intermediary of that. I personally wouldn't pay that much for the iPhone. At $199 I would muse about it. Especially since the HTC Diamond is coming out soon. The Diamond will set the standard for next gen phones. i would utter no because it is coming out in 2 days and you would only own to pay 200$ for the phone so i would wait two days to retrieve 400$ i posted a site and it says exactly when the iphone comes out.
no. for $500 you can buy the top of the line phone available: nokia n95
If you spend that characteristics of money, get a true smartphone, and not some clone.
the n95 does twice what the iphone does at a much better cost
GREAT phone. One thing, it one and only costs $11.00 to make and ship. It is time to stop buying China made items. look for it on ebay might be cheaper
